  • I was delightfully surprised by my recent meal at New Ginza. The quality and preparation of the food was very good--which had not been my experience when I last visited several years ago. I had a Hibchi dinner with miso cod and shrimp which was beautifully prepared and presented. I look forward to my next meal there. The service was fine, but rushed and the room is pleasant but unexceptional

  • I stopped by New Gina on a Monday and was blown away! The oysters were incredibly fresh — and just $1 each, which is an amazing deal. The sushi was absolutely fabulous, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The service was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back for both the food and the warm hospitality!

  • New Genza is our go-to sushi spot in the Boston area. The fish is always fresh and prepared with care, and the atmosphere has a comfortable, family-owned feel. The staff is friendly and attentive, and we enjoy sitting outside when the weather’s nice. It’s a convenient hometown sushi bar right here in Watertown, and we find ourselves coming back almost every weekend. Their lunch specials are a great value and make it easy to enjoy high-quality sushi without spending a fortune.

  • I really like this place! Very nice food! I live in the apartments right next to it and this is becoming my go to place for takeout or dine in. Love the sushi and the fried ice cream! Miso soup is on point! Katsu comes with a very nice assorted veggie stir fry... Check out the pictures. Well cooked... Full of subtle but good flavor!

  • New Ginza holds a strong place in our hearts. Many years ago, my (now) wife and I were dating and came across New Ginza as a fun date option. We sat in a booth and it took me 45 minutes! to order because it was my first sushi experience. I had lots of questions. My wife patiently answered my questions and the staff backed her up admirably. The GM at the time came and made us feel like we were already family and kept us happy and laughing through the meal. When the food came... it was beautiful. Each dish or roll was artfully constructed both in balanced flavor and even color. We shared an Alligator Roll and I think my brain chemistry changed. It's the only way that I can describe it. After this experience that night, we came back 4 more times that same week. 5 visits in one week! People over the age of 40, like us, remember that Cheers in Boston was the place where people were supposed to feel at home. For us, our Cheers was New Ginza. We ate there regularly for YEARS, and look forward to our visits when we're in town again. The GM remembered our names and would never make us wait. Keep it up team! You set the bar for high quality food and service.

  • This was my second time there for lunch and I brought my wife along. The shushi was great, my wife was also impressed on the quality of food as well. The lunch combo came with salad and miso soup. A lot of other shushi restaurants have stopped offering salad with the lunch specials so it is great that New Ginza still offers it! I know it is a small thing, but these days its the small things that count. The staff is also very welcoming. I highly recommend! Oh ya, they are open on Monday, which is why I came here originally. Other shushi restaurants tend to be closed on Mondays.

  • The food was very good. The sushi tasted so fresh. The ambiance is decent. We made a reservation but it was not needed. There was no line. We went on a Monday. We read about servers being very kind and courteous. Although we didn’t get that kind of treatment until half the time we were there. There were not many servers present too. We might not be dining there again but will get some food for takeout.

  • Went before the dinner rush and was cordially invited in and seated with no rush to order. Ramen was acceptable, but lacked the depth. Hibachi steak was also acceptable, slightly overcooked. Side of vegetables was very generous. Towards the end of the meal we had a server who tacked ont two udon orders which was rectified but confusing as to how it was on our tab in the first place. And there was two more mistakes on the receipts after and made our check out very confusing. Will try the sushi next time.
